Ms. Victoria Valencia Washington is a Jackson, MS native and the founder and owner of The
Washington Law Firm, PLLC in Southaven, MS. Her practice consists of criminal defense, personal
injury, civil rights litigation, trucking cases, and more. She currently serves as a public defender in
both the circuit and youth courts in DeSoto County. She also defends indigent federal criminal
defendants while serving on the Criminal Justice Act Panel in the Northern District of Mississippi.

She is the current president of the DeSoto County Young Lawyers Division and is a 2020 graduate of the Mississippi Bar’s Leadership Forum. Attorney Washington is also a graduate of the nationally renowned Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College in Dubois, Wyoming. Her primary focus is serving the community and defending the rights of the underserved.

Before starting The Washington Law Firm, PLLC, Attorney Washington attended Tougaloo, College
where she received her Bachelor of Arts in English/Pre-Law. While there, she also became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and served as the Gamma Psi Chapter’s Chaplain.

She then attended Belhaven University in pursuit of a master’s degree while teaching 6th and 7th grade Language Arts at Chastain Middle School. Ms. Washington served as the head coach of the Girl’s Basketball team and assistant coach of the Volleyball team. After her second year of teaching in the Jackson Public School District and interning with the Committee on Homeland Security in
Washington, D.C., she decided to pursue her dreams. The University of Mississippi School of Law
accepted her into its 2011 incoming class.

While there, she served as a chairman in the Black Law Student Association, was a member of the
Dean’s Leadership Council, and held as the winner and semi-finalist in several Moot Court and Trial
Advocacy Competitions. She also worked as a limited practice attorney with the United States Attorney Office in its Northern District under President Obama’s appointed U.S. Attorney, Ms. Felicia Adams, in their Criminal Division. After law school, she began working at Sparkman, Zummach, & Perry, then served as a law clerk in the Sixth Circuit Court Judicial District; and thereafter, worked at Perry Griffin, P.C. in Southaven, Mississippi.

In January 2018, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of starting The Washington Law Firm, PLLC. Since
the firm’s inception, she has tirelessly served the people of Mississippi, and maintains a committed
